Great recs, Andrew! I especially enjoyed Nadia’s post and happy to discover her Substack through your curation here. I’ve not had time to read as much as I’d like lately, so it was serendipitous to come across the end of Michael’s catalytic converter saga--and what an ending!

I recommend this post from Stella Kalaw this week. Can we be grateful for the darkness? Or do we only want the light?

I've been to almost every corner of this country, and there've only been 2 cities where the "vibes" were so off that I couldn't wait to leave,; Gallup, NM and Worcester, MA. I dunno what it was, but both felt like they had dark clouds hanging over them. I haven't been to either in 25+ years, but that feeling is as vivid now as I type this as it was then. Weird.

As for other 'Stacks, here's a couple I think you'd dig:

Andrew, thank you so much, I’m blushing. This really means a lot. But! I’m not obsessive...I have a ***one eye twitching*** perfectly healthy relationship with songwriting.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Andrew! I actually spent months agonising over every line in that piece so glad to hear it resonated. Conrad’s masterwork is undoubtedly one of the best books written in the English language so using his title as a clickbaity headline was a bit of risk but glad it worked out. Thanks for the tag, have subbed, and am looking forward to reading more.
