In which we panic at the disco (or the punk show, as the case may be).
Green Room (2015)
Like an underground punk rock band, it’s full of grisly, violent riffs, sweaty people losing themselves in the emotion of it all, and writing that’s maybe a little rough around the edges. The attack then retreat to green room formula works well though, while still managing to surprise you at points, and the cast of villains led by a chilling Stewart is definitely creepy, if maybe a little over-the-top. Hard to watch, but only because it’s so effectively crafted and disturbingly unflinching.

Panic Room (2002)
A highly engaging thriller featuring some really cool swooping film shots and solid acting all around. There are a couple of questionable plot points and the bad guys seem a bit too conveniently incompetent at certain important moments, but none of this ever keeps you from the edge of your seat. The central concept is interesting, and the tension, action, and emotion that surround it make the film an entertaining watch overall.

Here’s to rooms where we can just relax, snack on some crackers and cheese, and maybe hide from Nazis and/or home invaders.
I felt the same way about Panic Room. It was just good enough for me to enjoy and kind of pretend like the dumb stuff wasn't happening.
Great combo!
