We’ve got our heads in the clouds more than usual this week.

WATCH
Cloudy with a chance of cinema
Here are five different cloud-related classics:
Mary Poppins (1964)
From her puffy and white residence on high, Mary Poppins descends to our earthly world to lift up spirits and songs with magic and mirth and tender heart.
Airplane! (1980)
Speaking of Mary Poppins, remember that scene where they get the giggles and it enables them to float up to the ceiling? This movie is like that with laughs every minute that keep this plane floating high above the clouds from start to finish.
Castle in the Sky (1986)
A super fun and imaginative airborne adventure movie.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009)
Manna (and more) from on high in this wacky culinary comedy.
Cloud Atlas (2012)
This one’s a weird one, really cheesy at some points, uncomfortable at others, but its ambition is impressive, as it dives into the world-crossing clouds of time and space and traces the connections between different characters and cultures.

Jon Arbuckle’s thought-clouds
Garfield Minus Garfield
No one has mastered the thought-bubble quite like Jim Davis and his Monday-hating feline creation. But nothing highlights this fact better than Dan Walsh’s remix of the classic comic strip. Without Garfield’s presence, Each three-frame collection reveals the true Jon Arbuckle—a broken, lonely man “teeter[ing] between existential crisis and deep despair.”
Need a prompt to get you laughing into the Void? I give you Garfield Minus Garfield.
Murphy’s life.
Nothing made Jon more anxious than a day without problems.
Thinking.
Thinking about things—it rarely goes well.
Mistakes.
The real trouble was trying to keep track of them all.
Phases.
It’s just a phase.
Impossible to resist.
Leave it alone, Jon!
Elbows.
Jon found a problem he couldn’t solve alone.
Skills.
That’s the spirit.
Waiting for it to come to you.
If only it was that easy.
Convincing.
We believe you, Jon. We’re here for you.
Invention.
It’s still in the beta-test stage.

This week’s fog has lifted. Next time we’ll put our eyes to the test and focus on
Sorry fellas, a "thought cloud" in Garfield comics hardly counts for the "read" section on clouds so I'll help you out: "Cloud Atlas" is almost old enough to be a sci fi classic, made into a movie in 2012 starring Tom Hanks. The 14th century anonymous and mystical religious classic, "The Cloud of Unknowing" is a perfect for this theme.
I now can't wait for the overcast weather. Excellent playlist!
